The site is in Chinese (?) and there is no obvious way to switch to English on mobile?

I don't know about on mobile, but on desktop there is an EN / CN button on top.

Only if you have a wide enough screen. I had to rotate my phone to landscape. Thanks for the pointer!

ah yeah, I was on desktop at the time!

It gets even wilder when you click on "Join the Linux Beta Group". That leads you to https://www.feishu.cn/download eventually. I have no clue what feishu.cn is and I don't see a language toggle. Sometimes it just seems like chinese companies simply don't want international business.

That doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Do Anthropic et al have a "Chinese" button on their website and translations for all of their articles?

              • LukaD · 7 days ago

If that's reasonable or not really depends on what people they want to offer services to, no? No one* outside of china speaks Ehinese, while plenty of people, like me, outside of USA, UK, NZ, AU, etc. speak English.

*yes, there are for sure some people who speak mandarin, it's just not as widespread as English (or maybe Spanish)

Sure, Chinese has 1.2 billion speakers, and English 1.5.

Seems to me that an incompletely translated site is more serious than no translation.

                  Sorry but I'm genuinly confused.

                  It says:

                  > Opening chat in Feishu > Make sure you've installed the latest version of Feishu if the content doesn't open. > Already installed Feishu? <Open Now>

From what I can tell it's a "productivity" app? Looks like some microsoft teams kinda thing. I don't think that's z.ai's parent company, or am I missing something?
